Pages of history hoary,
Time’s wind through them flutes a melody.
Lessons unlearned forever,
Death’s march, silent as multitudes suffer.
A spread ceaseless across boundaries man-made,
A pall deathly achieved sans knife or blade.
Of hygiene disciplined sans ordeal.
Relentless progress to its call clarion,
Ignoring tenets of wisdom’s bastion.
A calamity herculean in an era elite,
A symphony toneless heralding a murderous fleet.
